Scunner, I always turn left.  Cos I am left handed.. :P
Standing at the front of Violet on the main road  BMB you would have to cross the road to get the Dolmus down to the market.
Just remembered on your way down there is a Bar where you could stop for a drink opposite this is a taxi rank on the road called Ibrahim Gul Cadesi (so if you got tired you could catch a taxi from here)  either side of this road are two small markets. These shops sell groceries etc., and the English Papers. The one on the left is the Aydie Market the one on the right has a very good chicken shop next to it.  ;)

I should also point out that the bottom gate I refer to is also known as the top gate. But in all cases, the market is easy to find. Just follow all the happy people and go in the opposite direction to all the sweaty miserable gits carrying bags of tomatoes. You'll get there.

thanks for posting the photos it looks awful it looks as if you would have to walk on road or does anyone know if you turn the other way  out of violet apartments can you walk to the front that way I like to walk and I don't mind pushing my husband in wheelchair as long as there is somewhere to stop and get a drink also do you catch the bus on the BMB to go in either direction. Just another question is there a supermarket close by that I could walk to and get a taxi back to do a big shop as we are there for 3 weeks and how close is the sunday market
Many thanks
carol
Ps I will probably have a few more questions before we fly out on Wednesday

Carol there are gates at the other side of the complex on a completely different road.  This is the one I was referring to in my earlier post.
Beirut comes to mind.  Absolutely awful.  Words, for once, fail me:(

Which apartment are you going into.?   There should be a few of the owners out when your there so just ask and they will point you in the right direction for everything you need.  Ali and Mustafa are brilliant lads too so just holler for any help you need.  I do hope you enjoy your stay, it's a wonderful complex, blighted only by the state of the streets surrounding it at the moment.

I have guests going over in a couple of weeks, thankfully they love Calis as much as we do and have had our place every year since we bought, but whether or not this is enough to put them off returning only time will tell.  If I'm honest I don't think I'd return:(

George thank you for the pics.  It was good of you to walk up that way and photograph it for us

At a guess I would think that the trees will be removed and that the pavement will be much narrower - after the ridiculous idea of making a central reservation that narrowed the road in places

Met carolpenny (silly bitch) and her husband last night - sorry Carol but to me you will always be "silly bitch" ;D ;D ;D

They are thoroughly enjoying their holiday and not letting the state of BMB bother them.  They are also really impressed with the service from the 3C's regarding the wheelchair.

Once again, well done 3C's

Marggie I nearly burst my stiches laughing when I first read your post then remembered Carol and Keith's posts  :)   :) On a serious note I am so pleased they are having a great time and managing with the state of the road   :)
