Private Jet to Cardiff May 4th
« on: May 04, 2013, 12:19:29 PM »
Well I know it's early in the season, but this scenario is a little ridiculous, checked in to the Dalaman / Cardiff flight last night and thought it was a bit quiet, I asked for an aisle seat and the Turkish attendant grinned at me and said there shouldn't be a problem as there was only 3 people on the flight !!! :o

This photo is taken mid flight !!!, the only other male on the flight told me he'd only booked it 2 days previously (and paid 15 Euro's for it !), so there would have only been 2 of us !. Little wonder why FlyThomasCook are struggling !!.

Captain's welcome speech "good morning lady (singular) & gents" - A truly bizarre experience !!  ???  :)

This does happen at the start of the season (and the end). It's often a fairly full flight taking people out to Turkey, but as it's the first one there are few returning as they didn't take anyone out a week earlier  :)

My best ever was me +8 going to Turkey with First Choice at the end of October. I was told it was fully booked for it's return journey going back, but as there were no more First Choice flights for the season, nobody going out because there was no return flight next week. Makes sense I guess.

We were told just to sit wherever we wanted, a really difficult decision :D

I guess they need to "make a start" somewhere, they must have taken people out and then take the "commercial hit" on the return journey, great for us passengers spread out wherever we wanted, average of 2 stewardesses per passenger, and supplied free snacks, water and coffee - Result !!   ;)  :)

Did they charge for any extra weight in your luggage?

For my empty flight they told me at check in that I was one of a select few and just checked my suitcase in without weighing it or anything. I was gutted, I could have fitted more cheddar cheese into it easily :D

Come to think of it the guy from Side who had booked 2 days previously told me he'd paid an extra £8 to pre book a seat and they charged him for his 20 Kg luggage, he said that was more than the cost of the ticket at 15 Euros (they must have known the flight was empty then !), I paid a pre booked price of £76 six months ago !!  ???

I once flew from Manchester to Bremen in Germany about 13 years ago. I was the only passenger.
It was quite bizarre having to sit and watch a personal showing of the safety talk.

Best flight ever , returning from Spain (work) on a Friday evening  about twenty years ago ,there was around ten people on board , I mentioned to the stewardess that a colleague had previously sat in the cockpit for part of the flight ,and was there any chance I could do the same. She came to me about 15 mins later saying the pilot was too busy , so had my meal and forgot about it. Anyway about 3/4 hour from Manchester ,she came and said you can come up now , and I actually sat on the " dicky seat" behind the pilots, from the south of England , all the way untill we landed at Manchester, amazing experience ,seeing what goes on ,and how cool and professional it was up front .  Sadly it'll never happen again .

Years ago when British Airways/GB Airways ran the Gatwick to Dalaman service, which easyjet took over we had the outward journey with them and there were 4 passangers in total as this was the last flight out of the year the stewardess said they were fully booked for the return.

More staff than passengers and so chilled.
