Secret Beaches!!!!
« on: May 12, 2013, 12:14:28 PM »
We are comming back in August to the Delta Hotel this time and we love beaches! We come from Cornwall  and love the sea. My question is, can anybody tell us of any beaches that we can get to by Dolmus? We Have found Katranchi, which we love! But there must be more we can get to!

Well alright then.
If you take the Dolmus out past the boat yard there are a few small beaches/bays that you can get to. They are best visited in the week when they are quite quiet, on the weekends they get much busier as they are popular with the locals for BBQ's etc.

I think Philrose is talking about the dolmus to Fethiye where you go right along the road passing the Yacht Classic and heading towards the boat yard, after this there are some lovely empty beaches (week days)

If you go out to Oludeniz there are a number of beaches there, Sugar Beach, Billy's Beach, Seahorse Beach.
Just for a start.

Gemiler  is lovely too,  you can catch a dolmus from Fethyie. Take care with the rip of cafes just as you get off the dolmus though.

Yes,

beware the cafe on the right, they will offer you free sunbeds etc. but only if you buy drinks/food
from them and the prices are apparently ridiculous, but Gemiler is lovely! It is a bit of a trek by Dolmus though as you have to go to Fethiye then get one of the few Dolmus that go through Kaya Koyu to Gemiler, you can always get a Taxi from Kaya, unless they have now started every dolmus going to Gemiler as well as Kaya?

Kidrak, to the right of the main Oludeniz beach as you are facing the sea is also good. Dolmus goes out there. Kabak, at the end of the road that goes past Kidrak is also amazing but was a climb down if I remember correctly. If you are a real beach lover, it must be worth hiring a car to get to Patara - amazing beach  and also fascinating ruins there, still being excavated. You can also reach by taking the Kalkan bus and getting off at the Patara turning. Town is now just 3km down the road but the beach is further, Not sure how to get from Patara turning to town and beach but sure someone on here can advise!
