A couple of months ago a member of the forum recommended a cheap but cheerful place to stay in Istanbul.  I have forgotten the name of the hotel and wondered if the member in question or some other member could advise me.  Many thanks.  PS  Going in September.

I presume you meant Taksim Square jackstee, if so :( :( :( :( :( :(

If I may quote a johntaylor49 post...

Never again! Istanbul was fantastic stayed in a little hotel called the Asmali Konak, small but comfortable and really inespensive, great location -- you can walk to the Fish restauramt area at Kumkapl easily as well! Bear in mind the "sea view" rooms not so cheap and you can go up on the terrace anyway! Nearby Restaiarnats were all good.

Was that the one you were thinking of
