Beach Shes
« on: June 18, 2013, 11:37:10 AM »
Hi

Will I be able to purchaser those 'beach shoe' type things in any shops in the area. What i am looking for is shoes that allow one to paddle in the sea whilst protecting the feet on the shingle/pebbles.

Apologies if I am not explaining myself well.

Thanks.

We bought the ones that zip up for the kids, if those are the type you mean Dave. Similar (but zippier) than these:

They were very good quality, snug fit and we bought them in one of the trendy looking shops around the new silver building that backs on to Paspatur in Fethiye (the one along from Burger King).

I don't know how much they were (other than not excessively expensive) or whether you could buy cheaper in UK, but we were happy with them.

You can buy plastic imitation crocks for 10TL in Fethiye, probably at the Sunday market in Çaliş and maybe some of the tourist shops sell them near the prom. Not necessarily the most attractive but definitely very comfortable to wear and slip on and off easily. I initially bought mine to wear on boat trips but now have 2 pairs and wear them all the time.

Here is a pic of me wearing mine - photo courtesy of Tinkerman

Those are indeed what I was crudely referring to Scunner.

Thanks.

Anyone any idea what I would expect to pay out there?

Thanks

Was in Sports World (or Direct, either way there's always a sale on) last Friday and I noticed they sell shoes like that there as well. Didn't look at the price as I didn't really have the time, but considering it's a constant sale it should be decent if you wanted to buy a pair before leaving   :)
