I'm really glad your daughter liked the little cardigan Jacqui, my daughter will be so pleased. The fruit cake was delicious and moist, worth every penny, yum! We had fabulous meals at both Mozaik Bahce and the Yacht Classic. I love the heart necklace donated by Suzzpuss, in fact I'm wearing it now. All in all, a wonderful evening and we hope to be there for the next one too! Thank you everyone for all your hard work and organisation. BTW Rimms was a terrific auctioneer.

Lotty, I'll pass on your comments re the cake to Maggie, she'll be well chuffed. Mind you given that it contained about 1/3 of a litre of brandy, it should have been moist!

My own purchases: the opal bracelet for Mary's (Howarth) birthday was well received. Blueclad's cheese & bikkie ex-pat goodie bag, some of which I shared with friends at dinner a while ago & went down a storm, the rest is in the cupboard / freezer & will be savoured when the time comes. As for Chrissie's eccles cakes, Maggie & I are still anticipating how delicious they will be.

I am sporting my lovely Moschino sunglasses,  8)  kindly donated by Lotty. They are quite striking and I've had  friends ask where I got them. (Really wanted Jacqui's earrings too, but got beaten for them  :( )

Not to worry Toky, you have the satisfaction of knowing that, by pushing the price, the kids were the real winners!

We used our European Diving Centre promises yesterday-2 beginners day dives.

It was a great experience and the staff at the centre are excellent; they really explain everything so clearly, are patient, friendly & entertaining too! Their enthusiasm for their work really comes across and they make sure that everyone, beginners and experienced divers & the non-divers on the day enjoy themselves.

Both Mark & I got our Beginners day certificate after completing two dives (the second one at 6 metres), Mark also qualified for the Discover Scuba Skills ( I failed as I could not complete the mask skills-scary filling the mask with water when you wear contact lenses  :'(!) This is an option you can take on the day for only a small extra payment and is well worth it as now he can go straight to day 2 of PADI open water course etc.

I'm determined to do it too-will now be practising my mask filling in our pool!

We can definitely recommend EDC for a great day out and a wonderful dive experience   :)

Made good use of the Yesil Dalyan Rhodes lot,my,they had some decent wine,at a decent price in Lidl, some really good Brie and Blue Cheese in the Spar opposite, nice German style sausage and ham also in Lidl a little less now I may add.
Oh! Rhodes was worth a touristy visit, latched onto an official guide for the old town.
But 17 Eur for two coffees and pastries made us realise what good value we have this side of the water.
Her indoors has just completed the Cagatay Aras lot, changing nasty mercury type fillings for pretty new white type.
Signed up for a little extra treatment which she had to ask Cagatay to do,absolutely no hard sell from him.
Many thanks to all of the Committee members for chasing the butts off to get all of the lots, and WOW what a result Lira wise for their efforts.
