The long wait in Dalaman Airport on arrival.

Mangal giving changed hands and staff changed. Thankfully I understand that the “head” waiter has opened a place and that the tiny girl who used to scurry about is now working 5 days a week at the hospital

Hotel room doors that do not have door closers and can only be slammed closed with such force that it could probably be heard at the Pelin.

Meeting some CBFers we hadn’t met before and also spending some time with anne and billy with badger and Irene, stoop and his family, usebustickets, diver baz 1 and lady diver and Pi55y and captainsquiffy.

Rubbish strewn only 100 metres from Main Street. Just awful.

Impossible numbers of people on the Dolmus.

Handing over certificates on behalf of CBF members. The delight of both recipients was clear to see.

I was also please to deliver the CBF badges to the Charity Shop. It gave me the opportunity to again meet some of the wonderful people who work there.

Shaking hands with Jerry (Jerry Boat) although I am not sure that relations have been fully restored

Microlight pilot doing a Top Gun type "fly by" over the beach just as the sun had set – muppet.

Seeing three people sat at a table for lunch not talking to each other – 2 on iphones and one on a ipad. In fact I found it quite strange to see people sitting on the prom wall using ipads as phones.

Being treated to a lovely bottle of wine by scunner.

A couple using two parasols when it was clearly one per two sun loungers.

Hearing a startling bit of Calis gossip.

Getting back to our room to find "40" spelt on with the towels.

VOJO’s.

Seeing so many tattoos on men and woman.

Being able to share in a local friends pride in his young sons fantastic educational achievement.

Disappointed that some places appear to be firmly resting on their laurels rather than improving their premises and/or more importantly their product. Not so Scarlett who have once again spent money on their premises

Knowing that I am over weight but have a long way to go to catch up lots of people.

Dolmus driver being address as “Hello – we need to get off” by a British tourist.

Not being able to find a restaurant which had a knife that was fit for purpose

Listening to people in the pool talking about the Forum.

Rod Stewart in Cinar Cafe Bar – poor man had problems with the equipment (musical) which didn’t help at the start. But he gave quite a few people and enjoyable evening and that can only be applauded.

Seeing people with sunglasses perched on their heads after sunset.

The large number of luxury cars in both Calis and Fethiye.

Temperatures – I will never again doubt temperatures quoted by members.

PS I may bore you further with even more  ;)

Ah yes - I would have mentioned that but, as most recent events have shown, you can never be sure who is listening in and the last thing I want to risk is being suspected of being a serial mule.

I should say that I did carry your package in my hand luggage as opposed to secreting it about, or indeed in, my person.

I'm with you on the modern media device one.  I have a sly look at my Iphoney thing now and again, and post the odd bit of rubbish here and there.  However, the amount of amount of family groups and youngsters totally absorbed these days both home and abroad is quite disturbing.  When they find time to enjoy where they are or the beer I'll never know!

Oh, also, I'm the overweight one!  Ha ha

My dear mercury - Brenda and I spent a lovely time with  C & P when they were kind enough to visit us, so I know what they are bringing over.

It will surely be something that you and Barrie will treasure for ever and so fitting of your time in Calis.

Kindest regards

JOHN

Looking forward to seeing both you and Barrie on Saturday too Anne for a good catch up.

Great to listen to your comments and observations H as when you are there "on the ground"  as we are you tend to miss things and you are so right about so much.

Also it was great to catch up with you and Brenda too.
