See? You learn so much from this forum! All those beaches I need to go and explore (I'd only heard of 2 of them before) and never knew there was a beach on Sovalye till just now or a restaurant!

And yes, what is a mindar, tuzlachap?

Lotty mentioned taking a boat from Fethiye across to Sovaliye island.  Whereabouts does that boat go from in Fethiye, please?

There is a ferry a few times a day from the small jetty near the aptly named Şat restaurant in Çalış.

From Fethiye it is from Palm Island where the old amphitheatre is. There s a hand mde sign about 2 boats in right from the ice cream man.

A Mindar is like a raised platform which  has a covered floor and the kind of cushions you find on a sunbed. It is big enough to hold half a dozen people and is covered with fine mesh to shade from the sun. last year it cost 10 Tl to hire for the day.

Was there today. Mindar is now 15 Tl per day and you really have to get there before eleven thirty to get a good one (far left or right of beach) Entrance fee 1.5 per person and 4.5 per car.
