The last thing I want to see, after a Noddy train, are large numbers of rickshaws running up and down the prom.

Some enterprising business man/woman should start a rickshaw service, but just around Calis to take peope to and from their Hotels etc.,  Instead of all these business people just opening another shop or restaurant.   I don't think a few rickshaws would harm the dolmus or taxi business.
We have used the rickshaws in New York, which are all lined up when the theatres come out at night. It does not seem to bother the taxi drivers much, as they know the rickshaws only do short trips.
We all know that the taxi drivers don't want short journeys and prefer longer trips.

Note H, I said around Calis to Hotel's etc., Not the prom, we are having a Wally Train on the prom, it's now been decided by popular opinion on CBF.    Rickshaws work very well in lots of places including New York and all the Rickshaw drivers their have licences  issued by the authorities and have them displayed on their vehicles, so in Calis/Fethiye  they could be licenced by the Council.

A wally wagon train would be good around Ovacik & Hisaronu as well, I wouldnt trust it up & down the hills to Fethiye & Olu though.

I think a train/wally trolley along the front would be a great idea BUT.....there is nowhere near enough room so please lets stop this talk. 

I can see it now, all restaurants and hotels moved back 4 yards in order to widen sufficiently        .....work commencing 1st May of course.

Yes Jacqui I had assumed that to be the case. My point was how could you regulate the number and if so how many are you going to issue 5 ?, 10 ? 20 ?

I would leave that to the council, probably start small and if popular, licence more.  I think that's what the have done in other tourist towns/resorts/cities. 
I don't think that would be a problem.
