Tuesday it was 3.05 in the morning and 3.08 in the evening at the change office in Calis. 3.1 at Finans next HSBC.

Blindside, you surely meant 3 ytl to the £ !  I have to let you into a secret. One day last week, for a period of 20 minutes ONLY, the Turkish banks were giving 6 ytl to the £. Reason unknown, but got the info from a reliable source.

Sorry Ray1951, I really can't imagine that happening! Why would the exchange rate double and then halve again all in the space of 10 minutes?! I might be wrong but I very much doubt it. Who was your reliable source, it would be interesting to know!!

Absolute rubbish, cross that person from your list of reliable sources. The highest it has been in the last YEAR, even for 20 seconds, is a touch over 3.22 - and that was today.
