There are huge parking bays and I still see cars parked on the pavement at a strange angle!  ;D

We have parking bays outside our house now...how lovely.  As for having Turkish neighbours Jack13...we do too and it makes no difference.  One of them is a retired congressman and despite calling the polis and everybody he could think of to try to prevent the vandalism to the trees and plants on our road, the council just went ahead and told them they could not be stopped.  Sick to death of it all!!

They're digging up the roads for more drains...again...no idea why.  Think it's going to take quite some time before the work will be done and cycling round Lissa Park/Links and many other roads is not recommended:(

Jan and others may remember when chaos was caused by restricting vehicle access in Calis centre to put the central reservations in - on Baris Mango and the aquapark road. They are just two parallel rows of high kerbstones filled with soil really. Firstly they put the two rows of kerbing in (eventually). Then they filled the middle with soil. Then next day they brought the palm trees. Then someone realised that tree roots are way wider than tree trunks. 4 Paving slabs were knocked out (two each side) for each tree, every 10 metres or so along the central reservations. The tree sunk was then into it's hole. Then the 4 kerbstones were cemented back in.

This was a completely separate operation to the one where they came one day and filled the same central reservations with beautiful orange and yellow marigolds. It looked fabulous, absolutely brimming with colour. Then two days later men came and removed every single one.

Any updates please
One of the only complaints we have had from friends an family about Calis were the state of the roads
And pavements, hoping to tell them all good for next year
Thank you

Very slow progress.  They are laying the pavements round Lissa Park/Links.  Poor workmanship, roads are a nightmare and muck everywhere when it rains...it has to be seen to be believed really.  I wish I could say they are doing a good job but I cannot in all honesty. (I have tried to attach some photos but it keeps coming up "file size exceeded".)

Aaahh, Bevsie, very envious! We're still waiting for the road outside our villa in Koca Calis, (by the forrest, down the road from the Angel Cafe/Bar) to be finished. Sule, our solicitor, is nagging the authorities for us, and we're hoping that after the mayoral elections, the road might finally be finished!! Quackers will be first to know, I bet!
