Christmas Lunch
« on: December 19, 2013, 15:48:48 PM »
We've booked Christmas lunch at the Sevi Classic hotel but are now hearing rumours about the poor quality of the meals. Has anyone had any experience of this place? Please help as this is our first Christmas in Turkey and would hate to be disappointed.

There was a report on Facebook from a British ladies group that their private function Christmas dinner wasn't good. Maybe that could be the opportunity for them to address things the ladies found lacking, as in a bit of a trial run (unfortunate though it was for them).

I've never had Christmas Dinner in Calis or Fethiye restaurants even though we lived there for 5 years so sadly have no opinion except to say that these places do their best but it's a foreign meal of several courses they are trying to put together for dozens of people which can't be easy for any of them. When we were in town (we generally came to UK for Christmas) we had our own.

Although we will not be here for Christmas, we have eaten at the Sevi Classic on quiz night and the food has been very good!

You can t always take peoples personal experience and make it your own Mikrik. You have booked so if i was you don t read too much into a couple of people having a bad meal. I had a bar served food and can say you can never please everyone. The majority of people you will find were probably happy last time.  If i had a penny for every time i heard  someone slate a bar i have been in and loved,  i d be a millionaire. I went for a buffet in this hotel 2 years ago and it was fine. They have improved the entertainment i hear and trying new things which Calis is massively needing, good on them. Go and i hope you have a great meal and Christmas dinner. ıgnore the bad comments see for yourself.

The report was from a large group who ate there.. Very respectable people as it goes.. I believe they had every right to be upset. They had a very bad experience and instead of the management trying to sort it out.  They are now being threatened with legal action by the Sevi... I would look at the FB report which is on CBF Facebook pages..

So Anne, are you suggesting everybody who has paid their 30tl deposit (at least 80 people) needs to walk away from the Sevi's Christmas and new year do?? Are you going to refund their monies, as you seem to be the only one pursuing this at the moment. Sandy nor any of the other ladies involved have said any more, only you. Will you be happy if the business goes under. I have had bad experiences here and elsewhere, but that is life, move on. Put it down to experience.

Nobody paid for anything, did all the meals get sent back at the time or were they eaten/partially eaten??. When the owner was informed and said fair enough just pay for drinks, was there anything wrong with the drinks??? That to me was an effort to put things right. If the meal was that bad I would not have been there for the dessert. Anybody else had a bad meal/service in Calis and tried to close the business down??has it worked???

If it had been MY experience then I probably would not go back again, but then again, I have given places a second try and been happy.

Not getting into an argument with you Baz... Just passing on info to someone who is looking for a place for Xmas.and to be honest I would only give a place a second chance if I had been several times before and it had always been good.. Enjoy your Xmas.. I sincerely hope that everyone who has booked the Sevi has a great time including you and Kaz..

Just to pass on some more information after reading good old FB, the Wii bowling group went to Sevi & rated it highly thanking the owner for a great evening with superb food & drink, there are ALWAYS 2 sides to every story. I personally haven't eaten there so can't say much more other than if you believe everything you read then you would never go anywhere nor do anything, the only way to make certain is to try it!
