Some months back people were posting the wartime wedding photographs of their parents. As I did not have access to the picture at the time I said I would post it when I have got it and been able to scan it. So here it is. The picture was taken at the wedding when mum and dad were both on a 24 hour leave pass to enable them to get married, the next day the old man was shipped off for 5 years to Eygpt, Libya, Palestine, Jordan, Iraq, Iran, Italy, Austria, Yugoslavia and interestingly he also went to South America and South Africa on the convoy out, and also got to see Russia!! (from Iran). He thought North Africa and the Middle East were ' fly blown $h!t holes' and could never understand why we would want to go back in the more recent invasion of Iraq, not worth a drop of British blood he said.... time I think has proved him right.

Mum spent most of war on anti aircraft sites in and around south London.
I think it is a great picture, not just cos its my mum and dad, but aside from the photo in the middle the rest is hand painted. The picture frame and stand has been made from a Twinings tea chest.
Apologies for starting the new thread, I couldn't find the old 'un.
