Love the one of Olu, 1969. I remember going to Olu when hotels first opened, thought it was the most peaceful place on earth!

Oh lucky you, littlereddevil. I would have loved to have seen Olu before it became developed.

The Olu one is actually a colour photo from later than that, turned black & white. I too would love to have seen it when it was like that. My great friend Birol ran a campsite there when Olu Deniz was 3 campsites and one hotel.

I remember the campsite well. I also remember a dormitory style place, I think it was Oba who still had a restaurant there last time I was.  There were little crofts with goats and hens and babies sleeping on hammocks under the trees. I fell in love with the place and Fethiye too, even though it was nothing much then. To me it is a little corner of paradise.

People who discovered the Fethiye area around that time would have loved a shared A2B transfer with up to an hour wait at the airport - Dalaman was a military ariport back then. If you really wanted to see our area it was a flight to Istanbul then a rattly bus from there. The Olu Deniz campsites were used a lot by Aussie/NZ backpackers on their way through to Europe.

Yes Dalaman is on it's 3rd airport I think since I started going. First one was a Nissan hut. It was a long trip up and over the mountains.
We even got our photos in a First Choice brochure many moons ago. As for inflation the paragliding was £60 back then and I think it's still the same!
