Fethiye Times has published the Fethiye Police Stats for 2013 - For a population of 80,000+, 10 reported thefts per week is lower than I would have guessed. 247 thefts from homes is significantly lower than UK rate, which is 2-3% per annum.

The traffic police stopped 30,715 vehicles, issued 2.6 million TL of fines,

30,000 drivers received fines totalling 2.6 million TL

327 drink drivers were reported.

There were 967 recorded traffic accidents and 6 fatalities and 664 injuries.

The Police recorded 546 thefts, a 23 per cent reduction compared with 2012. Of the 546' 247 were from homes and 6 from pickpocketing.
