A couple of years ago I mailed the Turkish Ambassador in London and asked
if he or his staff paid more than UK citizens for goods or services in our country.

I'm still awaiting his reply.!!         :(

The difference over here when shopping in most places everything is priced up, in Turkey so much is not already priced so that gives them the outlet to charge what they like...
Anyway not wanting to hijack the ladies topic of buying furniture  ;)

Not really a deviation from topic though, Karennina as just like kevin3, I hate being ripped off/fiddled/subject to racism. If I'm being treated differently because of my ethnicity, it's racism.

I would like to add that not all traders see us as an easy target and a couple of the large furniture stores at the side of the D400 in Karaculha had everything priced up. Both were also very keen to discuss a 'deal' for larger purchases.

I haven't bought anything yet. Still at the 'looking around' stage. Always scared if I jump straight in, I'll see something nicer when it's too late. But can't wait to be out there with Mum and daughter in just over a fortnight and the shopping begins in earnest. Mobilya mağazaları, here we come!  :o

Menthol
Not sure of the road number but someone told us of a furniture store on
the road heading towards Saklikent. We drove for about 25 minutes from
Fethiye and it was a newish 2 storey building set back off the road on the
left hand side. Nice people and really nice stock. Not sure if it's one you've
been to but if not it's well worth a visit.

No, don't think I've been to that one kevin3. I think someone else mentioned it to us too but the ones we went to were still in sight of Fethiye so not as far out.

Will check the map and give that one a try. Cheers.

If you do you could make it a day out and visit the Gorge,Tlos and Yakapark water gardens,( the genuine one) all in one go.
A really good day out.

Yes we are totally the same Menthol re being ripped off we are quite wise now and never buy anything without asking the price up front...
You are quite right as in not everyone is trying to do this indeed when we bought our furniture Erin Spot was great good prices and gave me a couple of sunbed cushions thrown in as I had spent out...
We also paid a good price in a shop in Fethiye for our bedroom furniture forget the name of the shop and we waited almost a year for sofas as I just saw nothing I liked or I did but the price was too much, finally thanks to CBF someone on here recommended a big store in Kemer again I forget the name but they had a huge selection of furniture and we got exactly what we wanted at a good price too....Have fun that was one thing I loved the furniture shopping and seeing everything come together  :)

I wonder if the furniture store in Kemer and the one Kevin mentioned are one and the same?

Definitely checking it out anyway. And yes, Karennina, the fun is putting it altogether   :)

Erin Spot will be getting a visit too.
