About time
« on: February 18, 2014, 09:59:46 AM »
Work has finally started on the resurfacing of the road past Sunday market. It's currently closed from Aydin Pide roundabout to the Zayra corner. Kerbstones have also been laid from Zayra corner to the Roka corner, so starting to take shape after about 9 months

Yes it is starting to look better, but based on other areas they will get the paths and parking bays laid, but the road laying follows - much - later.  To add to this additional wait time, I suspect that they will not lay this road until all the other side roads are complete, and the work on the paths, never mind the roads has not started yet!

This stretch of road now resembles a WW1 trench road, and so hopefully they will pull their finger out and get it sorted before the season, but based on BBM path and road laying last year I would not hold my breath! :(

Anybody know if there are any roads further down BMB (towards the sea) that you can drive along as far as the road that comes up by Cafe Pazar?  ie parallel to Sunday market road.

I had to gp higher up BMB today, past the Tirayaki Hotel & to Sunday market. I drove past the bakery to Zayra, but at the main drag the road both to the right & straight ahead ie down the side of Cafe Pazar was cordoned off. If there is a road nearer the sea, you'd probably have to come up the side of the Roka & park opposite Migros, as there are piles of paving slabs all the way from Cafe Pazar corner to the Roka. I was going to Britannia's office next door to the Roka & walking that bit in daylight was bad enough, wouldn't fancy it in the dark.

You lot are spoilt down there. Try living up in Uzumlu. Streets with no road surface or street lights for years on end. In the winter its like the Somme!!Oh to be in the big smoke.

Hi Saorise.. but isnt that what you loved about it when you moved there.?.... All these changes arent always for the best.. A lot of the character that people loved at first has now gone.. We lived on dirt tracks when we first moved with chicken coups and goats in the grassed areas.. Now all that has changed and in our opinion spoiled... I can understand that all the mud is a hell of a problem and driving at the moment is a nightmare... Calis is going to look like a lot of the other modern resorts soon. I personally think it is a shame..

Lol

I sure never bought a house in a street ( not in the wild countryside)  hoping I would never get a street surface or lighting as it would " spoil" the place!!!

I for one can't wait for this road and footpaths to be completed. This road has been a mess for ages, with you having to take your life in your hands when the footpaths finished and you had to walk in the road to proceed, especially in the direction of Kipa. You can keep your "Unspoilt", you couldn't spoil it anymore if you tried at present..
Wow.. Glad to get that off mi chest !!  :D
