So much work going on in the area, so here are few piccies and updates from my travels in the area on Friday.

Work continues a pace on the canals. Taken in the centre of Calis, the wall work on the beach side is now past the Nil Bar, coming from the bridge.

Looking up towards where the two canals converge. Lots of work been going on in this area. The blue digger on the concrete base for the canal wall, is removing all the silt from where the canals converge and gathers on the bend (remember those geography lessons?). Lots of silt being removed as the water is very shallow at this point. STOP PRESS: Just come back from the beach, Sunday 16:00, the main wall and most of the smaller wal have now been built right along to where you can see the blue dredger lorry. Not bad progress since these pics were taken on Friday PM. MInd you it looks like they pulled all the wall building gangs from all the other sites to get it done!

Work has started again at the new prom from Fethiye to Calis. It looks like they are starting to build the water edge path, down to the new bridge.

The mini 'marina' is looking very glamorous with its fancy railings, lights and the new promenade white bridge. Note if you can the very clever genrator/transformer station which has been built to look like a boat.
Finally, I would observe that the work on block paving of the paths and roads along the Sunday Market Road, and roads off it, continue at an uneven rate. Where they are finished or getting near finished it is looking good. The main Sunday Market road's paths and parking bays are nearly done, not sure when the road will be done though!! Anyway I took a picture just to show that some things never change in Turkey. Look at the tree (which should have a nice border, but more particularly you can see the leccy pylons are in the road. They should have been removed and the leccy put underground, but no worry someone will be along soon to dig it all up again, and it will never look as good again. Hey ho!
