Turkish .com.tr websites
« on: March 04, 2014, 20:21:23 PM »
Anyone else noticed that if they are in the UK - they cannot access Turkish based  websites? I was accessing sahibinden and others OK this afternoon but suddenly they all went off line although my browser is picking up everything else? Is this a government "block" ???

I've just tried Sahibinden.com and got onto it without any problem. Plus all the newspaper sites are accessible.

My wife and myself use mynet.com for our e-mail.  This is a Turkish ISP and we have had no trouble today from Plymouth.  Why do we use this?  With a surname like Smith it means we can use our names without some numerical suffix to give us a ni8ce and easy e-mail address!

It would be a real problem if they did this Ian as many UK residents rely on Turkish Internet banking to pay bills and utilities on properties owned in Turkey. Fingers crossed it was a blip with your ISP.

Hope so as I do exactly what you say paying SGK and some other bills online whilst in the UK. I am with talktalk in the UK and have never had the problem before and could still access all .co.uk or .com sites - most odd ..................
