Sunshine holidays (are we just unlucky ?)
« on: March 27, 2014, 20:06:06 PM »
Last year we booked two holidays at the Dolphin Beach Hotel only to have them cancelled as the hotel was sold.
This year we booked 2 weeks at Easter at the Anna Apartments and have just been told that the agent 'Holiday Brokers IND'
has gone bust and we have had to rebook at the Dogus at extra cost  >:(
We have 3 weeks booked at the Kaan in June - FINGERS CROSSED !!!!!

You were 'spared' not going to the Anna!  I would have recommended the Aymes.  The problem with all these internet sites is that they are 'agents' etc. etc. etc.  I booked the Aymes with Travel Republic who contracted the hotel via the On Holiday Group but they have told me that another company has taken over and everything is ok and the price etc remains the same.  I hope everything turns out well for you and that you have a great holiday.

We're not really toooo fussed about the quality (or star rating) of the hotel, more the price !!
As long as its clean and there is plenty of hot water   :)
We sleep and shower there and the rest of the time we are out and about.
We are both lucky enough to get 30+ days leave (plus flex days) so would rather have five
2 star holidays a year than two 5 star  :D :D :D

That's what we are like Kevin,I find once you are in a luxury hotel you tend to stay in,thereby missing a lot of what a place has to offer.so in fact you could be anywhere in the world, pointless. However the Kaan although very reasonable is a lovely little hotel with which you will not be disappointed

One reason we like to rent an apartment rather than a hotel, is the freedom we have to do what we want, if weve been out for the day we have food at home, and wander to the pub for a drink, or sit on the terrace.  Other days we go to the prom. or into Fethiye for a meal out, we have more space than in a hotel, have the freedom to stay in or go out without worrying about maid service etc.  and as two friends, rather than a couple, we have our own bedroom.  Pricewise its cheaper than a hotel, and we don't have to vacate the apartment till we go to the airport, rather than hanging about all day because we have had to check out.  Having said that if we did go to a hotel, I would rather have something clean and basic than a large impersonal place, and as Kevin says better several holidays than 1 5* one.

Ray - we booked the Aymes through Sunshine but have now received an email saying the supplier has gone into administration and we have to rebook elsewhere.  Presumably it is not the Aymes hotel that is the problem ?  Perhaps we need to cancel our booking (if we can) and rebook with Travel Republic - it is a bit confusing.

Not www.sunshine.co.uk?? They are still trading and booked the Rebin Beach Hotel (again-- 5th year now!) through them fine??

Got to the bottom of this now  :)

Sunshine Holidays is part of the OnHoliday group and not Sunshine.co.uk.

It is OnHoliday that are in administration.
