I have cooked my own duck, but find the M.&.S. convenient sometimes.  I also have tried the Aldi and the Lidl duck and find them not a patch on the M.&.S.   However, the Lidl three bird roast is really good and actually better cooked and eaten when cold.

If the SB takeaways are too expensive try something else. There are many wonderful turkish dishes available and much cheaper than the bloody duck. The day you can buy a chicken kebab in England for the same price you can here is the day i will start to moan. ;D

Have never had a great Chinese meal in Turkey.

I suppose if you live there f/t and can get nothing else, yes some are ok- but not a patch on whats available at home.

My pet dislike is those places that do Chinese, Indian, Italian etc all under one roof- jack of all trades

Yes Jack it is a shame, a lot of the replies on here are slipping into the price of Duck, but the only reason I mentioned that particular dish was that it was the most extortionate  increase in price. like yourself I really enjoy their curry dishes, I normally have the mixed fried rice with it, a price increase on that from 7.00 lira to 11.00. I do think a lot of people might look elsewhere, especially as they don't even offer a set menu, which is good if you have a large family etc. :(

A lot of places charge rent in Sterling and with the exchange rate being so high, prices will need to go up.
