Duty free at Dalaman on arrival?
« on: March 30, 2014, 10:12:36 AM »
Sorry guys, in the wrong place but didn't know quite where the question should be.

Is it cheaper to buy your spirits at Dalaman on arrival or in the uk? It used to be better to buy on arrival but it may have changed?

Thanks everyone.

UK.
At Dalaman everything is priced in euros and the exchange rate they give is rubbish.

However if you happen to have euros on you then you would get a much better deal...

Ok, thanks for that. I'll have a little look and see if I've got some.

I find it cheaper on the aircraft
spirits 2 for £20
Amber leaf 10x pouches £46
600 Benson and Hedges £65
Thomas Cook e mail you a voucher before you fly £5.0 off when you spend over £60 and £10 off when you spend over £100 prices are the same on Monarch

Does anybody know if you are restricted to one litre per passenger on the aircraft or if you can purchase two litres each?  If anybody is flying with Thomas Cook this week, would be very grateful if they could ask and post on here.  Thanks

Thanks Lissa, I know there is no problem in the airports but wanted to know about the plane.  See you soon.

Guess it could depend on the airline but Easyjet last month were actively encouraging you to buy extra on outgoing trip as they couldn't guarantee availability on their return flights.
Strange tactic I thought as if they didn't do such a hard sell on the way out surely there would be plenty left on the return....

They probably push it hard on the way out to save fuel on the way back.

Done numerous flights with Thomas C(r)ook & never been restricted
