If things continue as they currently are the state of the economy considered the great achievement of this party might not seem quite such a success in a few months time.
I don't think their "great achievement" has been viewed as that for some time now. As a business owner, you unfortunately are seeing the repercussions from the past year by way of higher running costs, which ultimately you will have to pass on to your customers. They in turn are getting a better deal (tourists that is) on their lira so in some ways it may not have too great an effect on one sector of your customer base. Businesses who rely wholly on local trade may not fare so well.
Although, we do have to give the AK credit where credit is due - they did stabilise the economy when there was the possibility of another major crisis. You remember 1997 (coffee or otherwise) therefore you'll remember the way things were, massive inflation and no confidence in the lira, almost all business transactions carried out in USD etc - even in the early 2000's inflation was running at 40/50%!
Until there is a credible opposition in TR, the AK will continue to dominate I suspect - we certainly dont want to go back to the coalition scenario where there is a lot of talk and ultimately phuck all actually gets done.
