I love sea fishing, especially boat fishing. Unfortunately there is no one that i have come across in the 6 years  i lived in Calis that would give a serious fisherman a good day out. What you will catch is plenty of fish that would look ok in a home aquarium, and also, after a couple of hours of drawing a blank, the rest of the  people on the boat get fed up and end up diving of the top deck.
I have  some Turkish freinds who drive as far as Bodrum in late summer early autumn to catch anything decent. Mind you, many a winters day spent on the beaches of the north Kent coast over recent years, or many a boat trip in the Medway estuary, and i should be used to catching Naff all. Just moved to Norwich so gonna give the East coast a try

From the dark depths of my memory,I may be mistaken, but I seem to remember some fishing trips from Fethiye, but whatever you caught would belong to the boat owner. It puts you off, especially if you caught that MONSTER!

Not really bothered about that elusive monster, just the joy and tranquility of a day's fishing.Have also been on many a trip where they keep the fish, captains catch they call it and it's quite usual

I would of thought that the captains catch was what you paid him to take you fishing. In my opinion, part of the pleasure of  landing a lovely fish is to take it home and enjoy it knowing it was through your own efforts .      :)

Yes one of the joys is keeping it but you agree the rules before you go out.you can pay a reduced fee for the day with the largest/ best going to the captain,a reduced fee and then pay so much per fish ,usually with a limit on the size ,weight and qty you can keep, you can pay an all in fee but again stipulations on what you can keep.Loads of variations. One of the better trips I went on in the Canaries was on a six man boat,Canarian skipper, best fish for Captain, all other fish cleaned, filleted and shared amongst us(I ended up with eight good sized tuna steaks which went on the BBQ)and at lunch time we had fish caught Tuna pasta, crusty bread and a can of beer, pure heaven
