Deep Sea Fishing?
« on: April 10, 2014, 17:31:16 PM »
A friend is coming to the area late April and asked me about deep sea fishing. Boat trips with Efes and BBQs I know all about but I know nothing about this. Has anyone done it in Fethiye area? I think they would want to go private rather than on a large boat with others - is that possible? And if it is, in April?

Any specific recommendations for who to go with would be really helpful. Thanks!

In all the years we lived over their Boss, I only found one guy who would take me on a deep sea trip, and that was the BIG guy who, at the time, owned the "Imperador" fish stall on the Fish Market. The only reason I didn't go was the fact that his boats go out for days at a time, & he said we would probably get as far as Malta !! Bummer really, because I used to do a lot of deep sea fishing when I lived in Arbroath, & I love it !!  Hope your friend finds someone.

I have done a few private charters from Fethiye but they are not geared up for going out as far as your friends or I would want to go and was not able to find anyone that would. But that was a couple of years ago so may have changed.

The haddock were never around when I went out Buddy !! ;-)  By the way, are you aware that the name; " Arbroath Smokie " is a misnomer ?? The original "Arbroath Smokie" actually  originated in Auchmithie, which is a small village just North of Arbroath .

Keillers of Dundee lay claim to the original " Dundee " cake, as we know it,  :P but of course, everyone's Mum has been making fruit cake for donkeys years. You are welcome .   ;)
