Anyone tried bringing a blender into Turkey?
« on: April 15, 2014, 02:53:44 AM »
Yes, I know you can buy them there, but priced them up last time and just not worth it for what I will use it. I have a spare one in the UK that I was gonna bring over in my hand luggage, then Hubby suggested it might be banned as an offensive weapon (due to the blades). Although I have  never heard of anyone being attacked by a blender, I thought he may have a point.  Don't want pack the heavy thing if it's gonna be taken off me. Does anyone know, and if not, does anyone know where I can get one cheap over there? Cheers

Don't bring it in your hand luggage put it in your suitcase then no problems. We have bought over lots of things in our suitcases.

I brought our over in our hold luggage, I know they can so sometimes be very strict especially in Bristol airport, my husband stupidly took his nail clippers in his hand luggage 3 years in a row, (even though he was threatened with violence by me if he did it again), and had them confiscated.

I haven't heard of anyone being attacked with a blender either, but there is a first time for everything lol... they wont allow it in your hand luggage in case you dismantle it and use the blades for something.  As everyone suggests, putting it in your hold luggage wont be a problem.  Sue xx

My friend brought her food and smoothie blitzer across and back last week, no problem, but she did place it in her case.
