An April Walk
« on: April 19, 2014, 10:49:11 AM »
April, the month of ...

... Bluebell woods ...

... with Wood Anemone and Celendine ...

... delicate Cuckoo Flower in the marshy field ...

... roadside Primrose ...

... Honesty ...

... Forget-me-not ...

... and something I can't name but suspect is a garden escapee (anyone help?) ...

... and finishing, as every decent walk should, with a little light refreshment.

How gorgeous is that?  I think we tend to forget the beauty around us in Britain.  Sure Turkey is lovely but we have so much if we just open our eyes.  I love the spring in the countryside.

Absolutely agree with that Marggie, we were just saying the same thing yesterday.  We so often take these things for granted.

Lovely photos Colwyn   :)

£3.10 in the Masons Arms. That was what I had, having enjoyed the Wye Valley HPA earlier in the week.

Think the last flower is a vinca or Madagascar periwinkle. Lovely photos BTW

How is it that when the site is just reaching a higher plane (i.e the beauty of spring ) that we always get back to the price of beer??

Thanks Liz. I have looked at some photos of Vinca major (variety oxyloba) which seem to fit my picture. It shows the leaves to be slightly hairy which I didn't notice and will check when I am next investigating the price of ale.

Lovely pics Colwyn.
Two questions.  1. Did you come across the teddy bears.?
                          2. Is the clock in the bottom photo AM or PM.?
