Dear John (no pun intended) why do you make things so awkward for us all and yourself, have read your comp several times, and me and many others are none the wiser, but hey ho you will get our money out of us to support the charity, even though basically we haven't got a clue what you are on about!!  :)  :)

echogirl1 - I do apologise if people think that I have made things awkward. Let me try and explain

Competition One - Winners:

There are 32 countries in the competition. If I asked members to choice a country there would be a rush to pick the favourites – Brazil, Germany etc. etc. Once the “top” teams had been chosen, it would be natural for other members to perhaps decide not to participate because of the reduced chance of winning. So I randomly allocated the numbers 1 -32 to the different countries so that no-one will know which team they have until all the numbers are taken.

Golden Boot Winner:

Exactly the same reasoning as above.

Supporters Bus:

You pick a seat and pledge 5 lira for every game that England win. If they win the World Cup then that would be 35 lira. When you opted for a First Class Seat and if England win you would be asked to donate 70 lira. If England progress to the Quarter Finals and get beat, they will have won 4 games and you would then be asked to donate 4 x 10 lira.

I hope that helps  :).

I also sincerely hope that I haven't put people off from participating :(

I think my main problem is that I detest football and have no interest in the World Cup, but it was beautifully explained and if England win it I will gladly double my original offer  (my son assures me they wont!!) xx

If England win, I'll double the total pledged in this competition!
