Worth shopping around for Idol (all varieties) as the price can vary considerably. For example local shop 14 lira, Kipa 21.50.

Interesting, Philrose.  I have noticed on several occasions that the wine in the large supermarkets seemed quite pricey in comparison to some of the smaller shops and the wine shop on the main drag in Calis.  In my ignorance, I thought perhaps they stocked superior wines, but obviously not.  One to watch out for.  :o

Yes - I got it at a local shop! Great value and the red was very good.

I agree,

Angora is one of the best, along with maybe Majestic.

I pay locally for Idol 12.5tl, but don't buy it in Kipa...it's usually 20.5tl. Angora as mentioned is very reliable and a decent tipple and currently 15tl.

The  twins shop in the Main Street usually has good offers on wine, but they don't have a big selection. We have had some good bargains in that shop.
