Well they have been around I can assure you.  Gordon complains that he cannot get the Tunnocks logs, 26years he has searched for them, finally they have made it down south, and they sell out quick, when we were in Arbroath he bought loads and then left them in his Nephews fridge! 
The same for Mothers Pride Scottish Bread, he snaps it up when available, and moans like hell when it isn't, to me it is like cardboard.

How dare you! Best toast in the World is created using Mother's Pride Scottish bread. We used to bring at least 4 loaves back to Turkey when visiting Scotland  :)

They may have been selling them in the Deep South of England. but I have never travelled that far to buy chocolate.

No argument, it's is now available in Scotland, but only recently.  It seems it was always available in England.

Chocolate is a very important subject, it is comfort food, it is my friend, and now I can't have it I am heart broken.  Turkish dark chocolate is very bitter and has medicinal purposes (don't argue!) it is fantastic for aiding menopausal conditions. (exit all men)
