Cost of Golden Virginia in fethiye

Does anyone know how much it costs for a pouch of 50g , of Golden Virginia, and where there is a tobacconist in Fethiye that sells it. We have beena sked by friends to get them some, and as non smokers have never looked for it, and have no idea the cost in Fethiye, am trying to work out if its best to buy there or at Stansed airport on way out, or on Easyjet flight.


Any help would be appreciated.

You can't Carole.  You can buy 5x50g pouches in duty free or usually a bit cheaper on the plane.  About £40 if I remember correctly.  Got to get it for my Dad every time we visit

Hubby smokes this Carol he reckons it is defo cheaper at Dalaman then the UK duty free shops... in April he paid about £36 or £37 for 5 50 gram pouches at Dalaman this is one box...

Thats great, i will look at price at Stansted, and check it out on Easyjet, but sounds like it might be worth waiting until we are back at Dalaman, easy for us then, now worries wasting time looking for it while away, cant waste my suntime..

You can buy it in fethiye there are three or four places two of them by the fish market one by the arena rest ,cheaper than duty free but make sure they have the sealed cover ,the fake  stuff is gross yuk .

Having bought fake cigarettes and tobacco in Cyprus and in Turkey, and after watching a tv prog. the other day showing what goes in the fakes, I would rather buy it on the plane or in the duty free shops.  Both times I have been caught out the packs were fully sealed and except for the health warning being in slightly smaller writing were exactly the same.  The price on the web site will tell you what you will pay on the plane, and in any case it will be a fraction of the UK price.

Don't buy it in the shops..... I did mistake not good!  Dalaman airport 10x50gram £51. Brought beginning of may on my return journey.

I regularly buy Golden Virginia for a friend so I'm a bit of an expert. I'd check the prices on the plane out and compare at the airport on the way back (if you leave it till you're on the plane to buy, though, you run the risk of them not having it). A good price is anything under £5 a pouch. I paid £4.40 a pouch in Tenerife over easter. Sometimes it's cheaper per pouch if you buy 10, rather than 5 pouches.

Depending on who you're flying with, you can often check the prices by looking at the inflight brochure which some (but not all) airlines publish online e.g. http://thomascook.alphalsgretail.com/ Thomas cook  is £35 for 5 pouches, £50 for 10.

Agree, no way would I buy a "genuine fake" from a local shop.

I would just add that tobacco is the ONLY bargain remaining in modern-day Duty Free. Yep, the most lethal product is the only thing worth getting...

We checked on our easyjet flight today, and they dont sell it anymore, but Stansted have it for £39.50  for 5 pouches, so will buy it n our way out next week to Dalaman, as this weekend in Glasgow
