Shop....quite a specific answer required, sorry.
« on: May 29, 2014, 18:24:46 PM »
Hope someone who knows Calis quite well can give me a specific answer to this.

We are staying at the Palm Beach villas/Apts on 1042sk in September. We have never been to Calis before and all we know of the area is what we can see using Google Earth. When we arrive it will be very late (approx. 11.30pm) and obviously "Dark"

We will need to find a shop of some sort where we will be able to buy one or two essentials for our first night.....Milk, water and possibly a beer or two. My friend and i will be on foot whilst the ladies "unpack"

Can anyone point me in the right direction, remembering that Google Earth is my main (only) point of reference. Street numbers or Google Earth landmarks would help immensely.

Many thanks.

Pops (Craig)

Not sure how you are getting to your apart but if it's a transfer co. Ask them to stop at a shop for you and pick up what you need.

Thanks Tinkerman....that is definitely an option. I have sent an e-mail to ask if this is possible. I'm sure a few lira may sway the driver.

That is the answer, and you won't need to bribe the driver. You can tip him of course   :) You really don't want to be heading out in the dark, minutes after arriving at a place for the first time. A lot of the roads can look quite 'samey' especially after dark and you don't want a nightmare on your first night.

Palm Beach villas are very nice indeed by the way   :)

As you say Scunner not a good idea. A couple of years ago I thought I was taking a shortcut in Gunlukbasi at around 2 o'clock In the morning and after about 4 hours walking I finally got back to my apartment.admittedly this was after quite a large amount of Efes being consumed
