Happening now in Calis - wrath of God type thunder - hail stones in the rain - poor market traders - but most of all a good test for your roof and sealant

We're frying eggs on the pavement here in Wrexham !

We've been trying to explain the concept of a frying pan to the locals, but it's an uphill struggle. ;)

My gran came from Ruabon and it seemed to me at about the age of 5 upwards that they only ate Mutton / Lamb / Sheeps Brains / Sheeps Eyes etc etc so I don't think they needed one !!!

Has anyone ever fried an egg on the floor? A few years ago we were passing through Winslow Arizona (yep, same as the Eagles song) and I swear it was hotter than it had been when came through Death Valley the previous day. We stopped at a garage and braved the heat to buy some eggs and try it. The result, after 5 minutes we drove away from a raw egg on the sidewalk !

Rimms, at every newspaper I have ever worked at, whenever there's a heatwave someone on the newsdesk will demand one of the junior reporters goes outside and tries it as it would make a story.
Never worked.

Mind you, at some places it's a bit of a rite of passage to help them metamorphose into "proper" journos.....another one back in the day was to threaten to send them to do a naked vox pop in the pouring rain up in the Yorkshire Dales.  ;D

I've fried an egg on a tile on our terrace in Kaya in the past. The tile had been in the full sun for a couple of hours. I put a little olive oil on it and then broke the egg onto it. Took about 10 minutes before it was edible.

And why would the largest of all of something be the parent of all the others. I am much bigger than my mother.
