Lokantasi - an interesting price comparison
« on: June 11, 2014, 18:15:02 PM »
We love lokanta food - in 10 years we have never eaten on Calis beach front nor Fethiye harbour (cheapskates you might say - and you would probably be right   ;) ) Our favourite meal consists of 2 corbas, a plate of white beans and a portion of rice (with free salad and bread   :) ) + water.

GAR2 at Fethiye otogar  22TL
Seckin Gunlukbasi  20.50TL (surprisingly cheaper than GAR2 !!!)
Sini Calis (not sea front   ;) ) 32TL !!!!!!

Absolutely no difference in food quality, all excellent,  but Sini trying VERY hard to please - bless them.

Kevin - a man I could get along with :-)  An illuminating post - although we are now in Calis as opposed to living near the Otogar - we used to eat regularly at the Otogar and around the Saniye - and we try to steer clear of the promenade as well :-)

Do try the Cinar Locanta diagonally opposite the kiosk at the bus station for Uzumlu in Fethiye. Only three /four dishes to choose from ,. Plus rice , salads cay and all the bread you can eat. but they do vary them. Excellent value.
We frequented it quite a lot until we mastered the Dolmus timetable. Now we can plan to have our breakfast or lunch there.

We regularly eat at seckin in Fethiye and also get take aways from there when we can't be bothered to go out can't fault the food or service but we do go to some of the restaurants in Fethiye and Calis

When comparing costs please remember that the rent prices on a place in Calis are very expensive compared to the otogar area and also the other ones in Fethiye will be busy all year round not like Calis.

And when you add on the dolmus fares to get to the otogar or Gunlukbasi, prices are then not much different.   ;)

The lokantas around the Devlet are very reasonable and very tasty too.
I hear the calis one is now doing puffy  bread now is that right as wasn't when we went a couple of weeks ago, or is it an evening thing?
