What no cannon?
« on: July 04, 2014, 08:24:44 AM »
It's hard to believe that we are almost a week into Ramazan; there have been no drummers, in this area at least, & they are not using the cannon to signal the end of daily fasting. Another victim of the Mugla cuts??

My hubby said the cannon has been banned as one of the people that fired the cannon (whether it was in this area or another, I do not know) lost two fingers.
Health and Safety Reasons.
Not sure why no drummers, though.

The drummers have been stopped because it was causing disturbance to people who work and need their sleep.

I heard that many Turkish people believe both have been stopped because the foreigners living here and the tourists don't like it which is very sad as I believe the very opposite is true!

This is true. It is absolutely nothing to do with the tourists and foreigners living here liking it or not at all. I know this for a fact.
