Nobody is worried about wearing wellingtons in the winter, unless the rainwater flooding reaches your knees ? and I with the cycle group cycled past there last winter and flooding ( in my opinion ) was extensive

While the availability of building land is certainly the reason why properties are cheaper, that's not to say  that there is no flooding there.

I didn't not say that, or say that Phil  :) some areas are impossible to reach down there at times out of season.  Also as development increases, the areas affected can shift as new builds can solve the problem, by making it someone else's problem.

It's in the other side of the dual carriageway that runs from Fethiye to Dalaman. Margie is correct.

not quite right Stoop, although the main part of Ciftlik is on the other side of the carriageway, some of the properties on your side come under Ciftlik

I was talking about the village Tinx. The whole of Koca Calis came under Ciftlik until Fethiye took over.

I'm not sure who wrote that. There is much more building land available in Koca Calis, which makes the land cheaper and therefore overall building cost. That is why it is cheaper.
So what you are saying is that areas in Koca Calis areas that are prone to flooding are not cheaper than anywhere else? Its all to do with the hew building costs? I would'nt expect to pay the same price for a villa that never got flooded than one that did. i think I would change my estate agent if that was the case.

No, that is not what I was saying. If that is what I was saying, I would have said it.

Strange that as last winter was the first one in years we have not been flooded. It was pretty dry in KC terms.

Land is generally cheaper as there is much more available and some areas are prone to flooding (but not all).

I saw drains in Ciftlik this summer and the canal has been widened in places so maybe they are getting their act together at last.

After reading what Stoop has said I think Koca Calis would be the last place I would buy a property.
