Single Travellers
« on: July 15, 2014, 19:28:56 PM »
I'm doing some 'forward' planning and was looking at various holidays for next year.  I made several choices and found that the majority of them were "unavailable".  This got me thinking to my reservation in Corfu for September this year.  When I wanted to book Takis & Efi's, it was only available if you booked for two people.  It seems that the same applies to many other holidays - First Choice's Turkey, Majorca & Rhodes Holiday Villages.  Years back you were asked to pay an under-occupancy charge but now it seems this option no longer applies and I think this is discrimination of single people.  The UK economy is such that these places will have to rethink their policies or have empty rooms.  I may add that the places I looked at were at the higher price range too.

I am sure that single supplements are still widely available Ray. I used to holiday two or three times a year with a friend but never liked sharing a room so always booked two rooms and paid the extra charge. I was never refused anywhere, one of my favourite websites was Flights and Packages, we used them several times and booked two separate rooms every time. We had some great holidays, went on two Nile cruises as well as gulet cruises and booked separate cabins every time. I now live in Çalış so haven't been on holiday lately, my friend comes here to stay instead. Good luck with your search
