Well done big chap!  I'm not a Rod Stewart fan because he's an Englishman hiding behind his so called Scottish Ancestry.  You are what you are ENGLISH, be proud!  Looks like this was a good night and maybe Calis will be a bit better for a 'little' entertainment, provided it doesn't become another Benidorm or Sidari in Corfu. I hear that this chap sings for charity and not for personal gain - hmmmmm.  Very commendable sir.

It was a superb night, so glad we went. It was great to see Rod Stewart! Oh he's not the real one?  He could have fooled me!  :D

Ray, Rod Stewart never professes to be anything but English, but he is proud of his fathers Scottishness, so bit of a statement don't you think.

His father was from Leith, hardly a "so-called Scottish ancestry"!!!.

Like Rod I was born in England, with a Scottish father and like Rod I am immensely proud of my Scottish heritage, and at the same time I am immensely proud to be English born and bred. Unlike Rod I am also extremely proud of my Irish heritage too on my mother's side, and am an Irish passport holder (and a British passport holder).

Why should people be proud of one nationality - especially in these multiracial times? Not being a fan of someone because they are proud of their father's (and therefore their own) heritage is quite bigoted and more importantly absolutely bloody ridiculous.

Really liking the straight forward comments on this forum.  Right to the point, but not offensive.  Keep it up.  ;)
