All good things come to an end, but Mrs cheffy and I have returned from 2 wonderful actioned packed weeks in Calis.
Firstly we are no longer Dolmus virgins, we should have done this year's ago, we visited Saklient which is fabulous and Kayak village where we had wonderful mezze at Sarnic restaurant hosted by the charming Birol, unfortunately his wife Claire was not around, interestingly the area was used for the for the latest film The Water Divider, with Russell Crow, and the ghost village is pretty awesome.
The Dolmus is they way to travel!
A lot has been said of Rod Stewart, he's was fabulous, a were we met Georgeand his gorgeous wife at Lees bar and restaurant.
Must do's
A cheesy night on Carol and Tayfuns boat, we had a fun night watching the sun set and dancing to music and caberet.
Boat trip
Each year we always go from Fethiye on a large boat and have a great day, but this year we went on a small one captained by Berkul and hosted by his wife Fatma , who's cooking was fabulous creating a wonderful spread for us, and with only15 people on board made it fun and intimate, if you are interested book at the river taxi, and use the boat Berkul 2, they so deserve to do well.
Restaurants we visited
Mekan at the end of Calis beach, they do a wonderful Turkish breakfast and the menu is good too, we ate several times as it was close to Telmessos where we were staying, and also in my view the best bar on the beach, and the staff very professional, and of course sun beds free.
VOJOS
What can I say, Volkans is nuts, his wife Jo is gorgeous, the staff are fantastic, and the food is good, but if you are not into loud and proud this is not for you, but we spent two very late nights and they are great hosts
SERKUL1
This was an oddity, when you are all fished, kebabed and mezzed out, where do you go? This place does fantastic Chinese food, seriously good, the service as great, not to be confused with there restaurant next door which is also called serkul.
FISH MARKET FETHIYE
We always go at least once, we went to Cems, and had a great meal, choose your fish, and they cook serve with salads and other tasty treats

Fabulous, the best food I've eaten in Turkey bar none!
TELMESSOS BAR
This is a little bar just outside the telmessos complex it sell eggs, bread fruit etc, you can get a decent coffee, and a beer at 2am not that we would keep them up that late.! Oops
ZEKI RESTAURANT FETHIYE
Birols mother makes the best lamb in Turkey, and the otterman casseroles are pretty good too, he's mad as a box of frogs and the service is great, but Momma the lamb shanks.........
CAR CEMETERY FETHIYE
What a great bar, Jan tried all the fresh fruit daiquiris but not in one night! And the long Island ice tea is pretty damned good the staff are cool and live bands start at 11pm
We have had a ball, a big thanks to all on CBF, for answering questions I've asked in the past, it certainly made our holiday being informed, but would we go back?........ See you there next year!
