Cannot imagine this poor family's pain. I pray that they get some help and guidance through this. Nothing prepares you for the loss of a child. Devastating. Also for the family of the victim of the saklekent tragedy. I am sure that a similar accident happened a few years ago. When will we ever learn.. How much more do we have to endure? Surely common sense must switch in at some time as most of these tragedies are avoidable.

Obviously we don't know the facts yet and whatever happened it is a terrible tragedy...
The thing is if you are not familiar with the area the sea at Calis tends to get really rough, we were looking out for dolphins a while back and Derek said to me god he/she is a bit far out I had a look and it was someone on a lilo that did really look a long way away, I said do you think we should tell someone (who I don't know)but after watching for a bit longer we realised the way the current was the person was getting brought back in instead of taken out to sea...

It never ceases to amaze me the number of "lunatics" who go out on lilos in the sea. Do they not realise just how dangerous the currents are not very far at all from the beach.

No, most of them don't. Why would they?

Such very sad news..... Have to say this is the first I've heard  about 'Strong currents in Calis' in the 10 years I've been associated with the place.

Sincere condolences.

We have often sat on the prom and watched the kite surfers in the high winds out at sea and I have often remarked I would not like to be out there as it looked choppy.  It's usually adults we see in the water.

Another tragic piece of news.  Obviously only know what's been said on here but my heart goes out to the family involved.

Deepest sympathy to them.
