In the small Dutch town of Gennep a bridge over the river Niers will be renamed. In remembrance of the liberation of the town by the Scottish Highlanders, next february 70 years ago, the bridge will be renamed to Highlanderbridge.
The liberation of the town and the placement of the bridge was done by:
5th Black Watch Royal Highland Regiment
1st Gordon Highlanders
Royal Engineers of the 51st Highland Division
