« on: August 18, 2014, 08:55:00 AM »
Just returned from Calis with a few bites:( Didn't seem to see or hear any mosquitos. Anyone know what is biting out there? someone said maybe gnats or fruit flies. :-\

Flies are usually the culprits although the jumping spiders bite too.

Yes my husband said he saw something jump off his leg but thought it was a flea because so small. How do you prevent these from biting?
Usually the lemon cologne does the trick for mosquitos

I'm not sure what's biting you, but on my last couple of visits to Calis I haven't seen the fogging machine. Prior to this, the fogging machine on the back of a lorry was a regular visitor and reduced the number of mosquitoes/gnats.

Yes normally the council does this and should every night. But I never saw when I were there last week.

I saw it earlier on in the season around May, however, nothing since July.

I'm pretty sure this fogging machine was out last night as it sprayed my whole family as we sat chilling by the pool! At least we should be bug free!  :)
