I think you become acclimatised to a large extent if you live here, our day started with a leisurely breakfast on a cool and shady balcony, then off to meet friends staying in Olü where we had lunch in the shade on sugar beach with a nice cooling breeze, a post lunch hour was spent neck deep in the blue lagoon chatting and laughing before spending a further hour in the mini beach houses they have erected there eating ice lolly's.

Back home in our air conditioned car, cheese on toast and a double dose of coronation street with the house air con doing a great job.

It's all about temperature management I think?

I hate this post with a passion  :)

Our temperature gauge read 32C in the shade on the terrace at 8am....I have a day of housework to look forward to before travelling to Dalaman Airport to collect some friends who arrive this evening.

Thank goodness for air-conditioning inside the house and car, I say!

I agree that you adapt to the temperatures quite quickly, though. I was up early with the puppy a couple of mornings ago and felt cool enough to pop a shirt over my PJs....and it was 21C. Back in t'Yorkshire Dales that would have been positively tropical!

I tried to post a pic yesterday of our barometer showing 61.5 degrees but couldn't as it kept telling me to re-size but still wouldn't accept it. Out of curiosity I also tried frying an egg on the tiles by the pool but that didn't work either ;)  Anyway it is crazy hot, hottest we have known it in the 10 years we've lived here...but just about manageable 8)

My daughter said the temperature in the shade on the patio was 48 degrees.  It was too hot even to sit outside yesterday.  They went out for breakfast this morning to Georges and the staff told them they all have three changes of clothes ready each night as it's so hot their clothes are sticking to them, so they have to keep changing.   If the Turkish people are complaining, it must be really hot.
