Fethiye - Is this best Turkey area for us
« on: September 27, 2014, 13:19:21 PM »
 Hi all

thankyou in advance
I posted this on Fethiye forum that has led me to here where i ask the same questions

2015 will be our first Holiday to Turkey,
and looking for suggestion on what is the ideal area, accomadation to use (probably 10 days)
been to Sozopol, Bulgaria mainly last 8 yrs.

We are a married couple, young 50 lol and healthy/relatively fit
I have been told Fethiye is very nice and have read good things on here over last couple days.
Is it right for us, dont really want banging night life but also not to quite, like to eat out
I suppose we like value for money, mid budget.
Wife prefers pool in day but we do go on beach (preferably sand) and i like to swim in sea, so accomadation with pool not to far walk from beach, sea.
We will probably fly from Bristol to Dalaman (easy jet) how long does it take travel to hotel and by what means.
Any advice help will be appreciated !

Calis beach is a nice location many hotels along the sea front, you have the river taxi boat that's runs across to fethiye every half hour,i suggest you book and use a2b for airport transfers cheap and normally reliable.Plenty of nice resturants along the front, lovely sunsets in the evening and nice place for a stroll along the front what more could you wish for.

And plenty of good restaurants back from the front too, plus they tend to be better priced.  :)  The beach is not sandy, but still nice, especially down at the Koca Calis end of the beach, where the sea is better, nice bars/restaurants that do not charge for sunbeds etc. but are happy to take your food and drink orders in compensation.

Hotel Letoon for location, service, and all round good value. Mutlu on recommendation  from other people and again on location. Oyken and Harman, although just away from the front, again highly recommended. Calis is a great choice, lovely promenade, Fethiye is only a short Dolmus ride away for a change of scenery.

We use Fethiye Lovers in Calis to get to our place.  We have used them for 7 years for transfers and car hire with no problems.  www.fethiyelovers.com
There will be recommendations for other companies too. Take the recommendations from members they will keep you right.
