Prices in Calis Beach
« on: October 03, 2014, 17:07:06 PM »
Hi, I have not been to Calis for 5 years so can't wait for 12th Oct to stay at Caretta Apartments with Can and Mary for 2 weeks again, I was just wondering how much prices may have increased for clothes, crystal, eating out etc especially with exchange rate being very good.

You may well find that price inflation has been countered by the greater TL/£ exchange rate and things could well be similar in sterling to 5 years ago.

We used to live in the next street to the Caretta - might see you if we pop in to see Can and Mary  :)

I would say clothes are much cheaper in the U.K.  Same goes for crystal, which has a really low secondary value. As an Antiques Dealer I can tell you that you can buy a whole tray full of Crystal at Auction for around £20.00.
I bought an extremely large Waterford Crystal Vase for £10.00.  I know the original price would be over £200.00 I kept it myself.
Take a look at your local auction for real crystal bargains.
We will be over too for 3 weeks on 7th October.

Jacqui

Is that £ 20.00 at auction in Turkey. If not why is that relevant.

If the O.P. wants to go all the way to Turkey and pay high prices for crystal in shops, then have to transport it back to the U.K. with the chance of damaging it.  He might as well buy it at home in the U.K. which is much cheaper and more convenient.
I don't believe I know of any auctions in Turkey.
