What a shame that they have to bring a woman into it.  :)

There were always women in it. Surely you haven't forgotten Mrs Pike? Or the looming, fearsome - even if invisible - presence of Mrs Mainwaring?

In know, I know, I know.

There was also a cat, a dog, and a horse, but they didn't have starring roles either.

  ;)

All I have to do is dangle the bait, and I'm guaranteed to get a bite or two.

 ;)  ;)  ;)

It's an impressive cast but not close to the original TV series which must be the most perfect cast in sitcom history! I hope it will be good (as a huge fan of Dad's Army) but I fear it won't (as a realist looking at most remakes).

Nice to see Bill Paterson in it as Fraser - I have never seen him in Law and Order or much else that I can recall - to me he'll always be Fraser, but a different Fraser - Ally Fraser - and always will be   :)
