Tell 'em it's towards the purchase of an AK47 for a Jihadi friend of yours and see how long it takes for you to get a knock on the door.  ;)

Good to see that the CIA are on the case ensuring the Free World is protected from the bad guys who seek to overthrow democracy, freedom, civilization, and those values we hold dear by monitoring and clamping down on use of the internet by terrorists and enemies of humanity - and CBF. They probably have a prgram that defines use of "Syria" and "money" in the same context means "support for terrorists". The sophistication of our secret defence forces is amazing and really reassuring, isn't it. Well worth the $13.2 zillion per annum we spend on them.

The thing is, Colwyn, that had I asked for donations to pay for arms for Syria, I'd probably have asked people to avoid using the word 'Syria' in the payment description. I'd maybe have suggested people put 'Cakes', or 'Bunnies'.

On one hand you could say well at least someone is on the ball, which we want them to be to protect us.
But on the other hand terrorist's raising funds would be unlikely to mention Syria and money in any correspondence.

Re Paypal.
Two weeks ago I bought a Samsung phone battery using Paypal. Last week I received a mail from "Paypal " saying
there had been a problem with the transaction and seeking information. The mail was an exact copy of Paypal's Home
page and looked genuine. The only giveaway was the bars at the top to click on for contact us, home, ect didn't work
when clicked on.But very realistic, so beware. My son has reported it.

I do of course accept that there may be some reassurance to be gleaned from this and of course stopping funding of people like Islamic State in Syria is a good thing. But what bad they could honestly do with twenty quid is beyond me - while the people who lost everything have winter coming and could do with some blankets!!!
