David Cameron's Security
« on: October 27, 2014, 22:06:43 PM »
Having watched the video of David Cameron being bumped by a "Man In The Street", all I can say is that his Close Protection Officers are a bloody joke.

Not one of them had their eye on Cameron or were watching for an approaching attacker and he would have been wide open to an attack by a second person.

Agreed 100%.

I thought Cameron's subsequent endorsement of the CPO rather odd.

What wound me up though was the guy himself who was 'just running to the gym' I admit it that when I first saw his photo I jumped to the conclusion that this was some guy trying to either show off in front of his mates or make a political statement but then felt guilty when it was confirmed he was an endurance runner and was jogging at the time.

Then I watched the video and all that guilt dissapeared as I realised my gut instincts were true, the guy set it up completely ........ Idiot

They did not protect him earlier in the week either, when he got the belated news from the EU that we owe 2 billion quid   ;) He didn't see that one coming either!!

He CLAIMS he didn't but, apparently his playmate Little Georgie Osborne, told him several weeks ago.

Was the guy an oblivious jogger? My first thought was that he was not, he just came up with a ridiculous reason for what happened. But now I'm not so sure  :)

I think the barge into Cameron WAS deliberate and highlighted the lack of attention by his CPOs.

Simon Jenkins of The Guardian summed it up pretty well::

The Met police’s famously overstaffed and underworked VIP protection mafia were sunning themselves on the pavement when a man charges towards the prime minister. Don’t worry, they instinctively think, his beard, his dreadlocks, his T-shirt with upside-down cross clearly suggest a harmless Yorkshireman late for his personal trainer. Only when he is within stabbing distance of Cameron do they go berserk. How will it look on CCTV? They have just protested against cuts in the VIP protection budget, and now look at the mess. They cannot spot a potential threat at five paces.
