Burns Night
« on: January 10, 2015, 13:49:21 PM »
For any menfolk on the Forum celebrating Burns Night, from January 15th to January 21st
Lidl are selling the following. Ghillie Shirts, black or white £11 .99p. Sporrans £9 .99p
Kilt socks £3 .99. 8 yard Kilts £29 .99p. Tartan covered Hip Flasks £5 .99p and
kids playable Bagpipes £12 .99p. Seems very good value to me.
Anyone in Calis/Fethiye attending a "do" may have time to have stuff sent out from the UK.

Loz & I are just on our way down to Lidl, will have a wee keek at these goods, obviously must be lesser quality at those prices , ( my sporran , for example, cost more than all of the above put together !!  I very much doubt whether it will reach Turkey within the time period given above though, maybe by the PROPER date, Sunday 25th, but that's a wee bit tight, (like my kilt now!! ).

It's not the best quality.  However, I know a lot of young guys buy it for their stag nights, in my neck of the woods.  They save the proper Scottish made expensive clothing for the Wedding.    ;)
Lidl's stuff would be ideal for a Burn's Supper abroad, as it would be light to send and wear and if you don't want to invest in the real thing these things looks pretty good.  ;D

Yes, they have them every year.  I have seen them, but don't expect too much.  As said great for the 25th January if you are not a regular at these events and great if you live abroad.  Wish I could get Phil into a Kilt, but he always goes for a D.J. on Burns night.

Holm Mills kilt if I remember. I "real" one would have been far too heavy to take over.

Early on in the day obviously  ;)

I went for the D.J. during a wedding reception once, the bugger had only brought Vera Lynn and Max Bygraves records with him !!
