Holiday with 7 year old granddaughter
« on: January 15, 2015, 08:20:59 AM »
hi all have tried looking back on previous posts to see if this has been asked before, but appreciate its winter and maybe not so many holiday questions.
We are back out at the end of May ( half term week) and wondering if there is any suggestions of things to do with children. During the day she will probably be in the pool. We will probably do a boat trip too. It was more evening time.
We are used to coming out alone lol and a quiet evening meal normally suits us.
We are staying at the Aymes hotel.

Many thanks
 La

The 3C's usually have their Carnival Week at the end of May and have a few events going on then.
I am sure a 7 year old will be fine going out with you for an evening meal, perhaps go out a little earlier than you would normally do.    All the restaurants will welcome her.
My Granddaughter has been visiting since she was 13 months old and is now 4 years old.  On the last visit she had a great time in the evenings at the restaurants and enjoyed the attention she got from the waiters.  Just make sure you put some child friendly mozzie repellent on her.

I know it's not a Carnival Week, but there are always events such as the Street Fair and the Auction.  It's always a good week to be there.

Thank you Jacqui and Mercury.
Good thinking to go and eat early.
When my husband and I were out there in June 2014 we were eating in a restaurant and in the next door restaurant there was a robot dance thing going on, it was very good.
We will bring colouring stuff etc for her.
so looking forward to being back in Calis.

Hi we have our own place and our daughter has been going to Calis since she was born, she was 7 at Christmas and she always finds a friend to play with in the restaurants, she spent a lot of time dancing on the bar in The Beach House last year, she loved it lol.  We are out in May so perhaps our paths will cross x

Most of the restaurants have wi fi too so a tablet is useful for playing games and/or  'chatting' to family at home.

Many thanks Shandy & Bluwise.
We will bring a tablet for her but she would probably love to have other children to play with.
I have a feeling none of us will want to come home.

One good idea on here was to let the kid(s) choose where to eat on a night or two. Let the waiters outside the restaurants on the prom know who's choosing and watch them spoil, bribe...great fun.

Both of my kids have always travelled and never had an issue of being bored etc. When they were younger I always took a bag with colouring books and crayons etc....you would be amazed at the staff coming over to "colour in" with them. Highly recommend a tablet too and comes in handy on boring flights as it keeps them occupied if only for a short while.
